Vogt “Emmie” Jansky
May 15, 1918 – September 11, 2011
Emmie married Wylie Edward Jansky, Sr. on Oct. 22, 1945 and they moved to Fort Worth where they raised five children. She was a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. When all five of the children were in school, Emmie began her career, first at Leonard's Department Store and then at Samsill Corporation.
When they retired, Emmie and Wylie moved to Joshua, TX where they gardened and raised cattle. They eventually moved back to Lavaca Co. where Emmie enjoyed the festivals, yearly Komensky reunions, garage sales, eating out, and being with her family. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.
Emmie is survived by: 3 sons, Lynn Jansky & wife Connie of Joshua, Texas, Wylie Jansky Jr. & wife Diana of Joshua, and Paul Jansky & wife Wynonia of Burleson, Texas; 2 daughters, Jean Wheelis & husband John of Hallettsville, and Linda Sullivan & husband Rick of Johnson City, Texas; sister Edna Mae Hull of Gonzales, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Laura Johnson & husband Vince, John Wheelis, Oliver Jansky, Kathy Frazier & husband Derek, Casey Jansky, and Tammy Jansky; and 2 great grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Johnson.
Emmie was preceded in death by: her husband Wylie; parents; 3 sisters, Flora Bauer, Evelyn Boethel, and Bea Vahalik; and brother Lee Vogt.
Funeral Service: 2 pm, Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 6 pm, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Dr. Alan Williams. Pallbearers: Vince Johnson, Johnny Wheelis, Oliver Jansky, Casey Jansky, Derek Frazier, and Lynn Boethel. Memorials: St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
