IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emilie Evelyn
Trlica
April 24, 1905 – June 7, 2006
She married Anton Trlica on June 15, 1924 in Hallettsville. From that time until 1944 she and her husband were in the photography business, having a studio in Gonzales for a few years and then moved to Cuero where they were in the photo business until 1944. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club in Gonzales. At that time they purchased a farm 7 miles southeast of Vsetin which they farmed until her husband's death in 1970. She was Secretary/Treasurer for the Memorial Fund of the Vsetin Czech Morivan Brethren Church for 13 years. She was also a member of the Christian Sisters Society. She started Sunday School from Czech to English by the help of Mrs. Rev. Barton and Mrs. Rev. Kostohryz. The Sunday School classes prior to this time were always taught in Czech.
Her hobbies were collecting recipes and crocheting, embroidering and doing any kind of hand work. She enjoyed working with flowers in her flower beds and would always have a glass vase of flowers in her kitchen window which she picked from her flower beds. Visitors always noticed the flowers in her kitchen window. She loved company and enjoyed preparing a big meal or two for whoever came for the day or sometime even longer. She also loved gardening and always had fresh vegetables to go with the big meal she prepared for visitors. The atmosphere in her home was always a joyful one.
After her husband passed away, she liked to sit up with patients who were friends of hers who would be hospitalized in Renger Hospital or in their homes in Hallettsville.
Emilie was the only surviving child of 5 children until her death. Her sister was Albina Zak who died in 1994; and her 3 brothers were Joseph Woytek Jr., Adolf Woytek, and Leonard Woytek. Joseph passed away in 1984, Adolf in 1969, and Leonard in 1996.
In 1994 at the age of 89, Emilie decided the farm and home were too much for her to take care of and decided it was time to go into the Stevens Convalescent Center in Hallettsville, where she remained for 12 years until the time of her death.
Emilie is survived by several nieces and nephews.
