Emilie Evelyn Schneider Bitala, 94, was born on October 3, 1915 to Alois & Rosalie Janak Schneider in Hallettsville. She married James Bitala on July 6, 1932. He passed away on September 15, 1963. She was a member of S.P.J.S.T. and Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Hallettsville.

Emilie love to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the love of her life. She loved to quilt, garden and bake. Her favorite times were at holidays when she would make homemade bread and dressing. She was an angel to all who knew her.

Emilie was a happy person with her unique smile and pointing her finger. She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She will be watching over each and every one of us as we finish our lives here on earth. She will be the brightest star in the sky letting you know that she is with the Angels. Emilie is survived by: daughter Rose Marie Hoch of Hallettsville; 9 grandchildren, Van Marie Brunkenhoefer of Giddings, Betty Ann Hernandez of Hallettsville, Mary Ann Hoch of Hallettsville, Doris Ann Loredo & Johnnie of Yoakum, Karen Rose Perez & Luciano of Hallettsville, Claude Hoch Jr. of Yoakum, Frankie Hoch & Kimberly of Buda, Freddy Hoch & Bosha of Arlington, Virgina, and James Hoch of Yoakum; 31 great grandchildren, Pam, Daniel, Jason, Amanda, Clarence Jr., Shannan, Sheila, David, Anna, Larissa, Tori, Derrick, Joshua, Anthony, Casey, Brittney, Janelle, Taylor, Patsy Rose, Hunter, Chase, Levi, Hayden, Stoan, Brianna, Hailey, Shelby, Shae, Candace, and Zachary; and 8 great great grandchildren, Sheryl, Sam, Trinity, Alexis, Audrey, Lewis, Lane and Logan.

Emilie was preceded in death by: sons, Jimmy George Bitala and Alphonse "Buck" Bitala; husband James Bitala; parents Alois & Rosalie Janak Schneider; son-in-law Claude A. Hoch Sr.; granddaughter Cheryl Brunkenhoefer; brother Alvin Schneider; sister Frances Gilmore; niece Georgia Mae Cernik; nephews, Alvin Schneider Jr. and Luis Gilmore; and her best friend Maggie Mae Gordon.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Claude A Hoch Jr., Frankie Hoch, Freddy Hoch, James Hoch, Luciano Perez, and Clarence Hernandez Jr. Memorials: Donor's Choice Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
