Emil G. Treptow, 102, of Hallettsville, passed away on October 27, 2014. He was born on November 21, 1911 at Old Kinkler to Emil & Anna Treptow.
Emil operated the Treptow Gin until 1939, he then went to work in Houston at a defense plant during WWII. He married Mary Evelyn Stockton on May 11, 1940. They had a wonderful marriage of 70 years.
Emil was a former member of the Hallettsville Golf Association, the Shriners of Houston, the Lion's Club, Masonic Lodge; and First United Methodist Church, having served on the board for a number of years.
Emil is survived by: 2 daughters, Judy Richards & husband Ron of Hallettsville, Beth Hamilton & husband J.R. of Carrizo Springs; 4 grandchildren, Mike Richards & wife Chris of Sugar Land, Kim Dukes & husband Brandonn of Coppell, Crissy Hamilton of Dallas, and Clayton Hamilton & wife Violet of Carrizo Springs; and 6 great grandchildren, Michael Douglas Richards of Galveston, Michaela and Kayla Richards of Sugar Land, Kellen, Katherine and K.C. Dukes of Coppell; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Emil was preceded in death by: his wife Mary; his parents; 5 brothers, Fredrick, William, Helmuth, Melvin, and Marvin Treptow; and granddaughter Pamela Beth Richards.
Funeral Service: 2:30 pm Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville with Visitation starting at 1:30 pm. Officiant: Pastor Melanie Monroe. Pallbearers: Bill Treptow, Clay Hamilton, Mike Richards, Brandonn Dukes, Bubba Barnes, and Michael Douglas Richards. Honorary Pallbearers: Al Schneider, Al Ringo, Ron Richards, and J.R. Hamilton. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): First United Methodist Church, Hospice of South Texas or Charity of Your Choice.
