Emil Owen, 58, of Moulton, was called to his home with the Lord January 1, 2015 after his 23 year battle with cancer. He had a strong relationship with the Lord and faithfully put his battle in the Lord's hand all the way to the end. He continued his healing in the glory of God until his ultimate healing when his soul left his physical body to start his eternal walk with the Lord.

Emil served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He loved everyone he ever met. He was a strong, loving, helpful and caring to others and always went out of his way to help no matter what. In the end he was so thankful for all of the friends and family that came by to visit and help him with his journey.

Emil was complete in his life with his wife, Mary Ann. Their marriage is one of great example to others. No matter what hardship or celebration was put in their path, they faced it together with faith in God. They made it through because they did it together.

He loved fishing and family, but family was most important to him. He had strong values and raised his children by his loving example. He extended his values and teaching to any family member that needed help or guidance. He was more concerned with doing the right thing instead of worrying about what others thought about it. He always put his family first. Even in the end he was more concerned with disappointing his family by letting go.

Emil is survived by his wife Mary Ann Hogan Owen. Children and their spouses Michelle (Huggins) Haller and Lee Haller, Alan Huggins and Theresa Taylor Huggins, Jimie (Huggins) Fowler and Jason Fowler, Martha Owen and Mayra Mendoza. Sons-in-law Paul Longoria and Larry (LD) King and Daughter-in-Law June Lynn Huggins. Grandchildren Kristen Escobar, Andrew Longoria, Alan Huggins Jr, Anthony Longoria, Trey King, Amy Huggins, Madison Fowler and Emilie Fowler. Great grandchildren Emery Hulsey, Max Leelan Lucio and Berkley Lewis. Brothers William Herman Owen, III and life partner Michael Jones, Joseph Owen, Mona Gardner, Elizabeth Owen, Dina Hite, Janet Wood and husband Bobby Wood and Mary Jean Owen.

Emil was preceded in death by his parents William Herman Owen, JR and Martha Zernicek Owen and grandson Owen Lewis Fowler.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha; with Rosary stating at 9:30 am. Visitation: 4 pm., Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Rev. Gabriel Maison. Pallbearers: William Owen, Joseph Owen, Alan Huggins, John Hogan, Andrew Longoria, and Alan Huggins Jr. . Honorary Pallbearers: Jason Fowler, Lee Haller, Michael Jones, Ed Hite, Bobby Wood Sr., Jacob Hogan, Lewis Carriere, Murphy Carriere, William Owen III, Jonathon Hogan, Kenneth Hogan, Bill Hogan, Sampson Gardner III, Scotty Gardner, Micah Hite, William Wood, Bobby Wood Jr., Anthony Longoria, and Trey King.
