Obituary

Emil Milous Doubrava, 91, of Shiner, passed peacefully and called to heaven by our Lord on November 14, 2025.  He was born on December 18, 1933, to Lawrence & Mary Motal Doubrava, in Moravia, Texas and raised in Lavaca County.  He was Honorable Discharge in 1955, from the US Army.

Emil was preceded in death by:  1st wife Librada "Libby" Doubrava of 28 years; 2nd wife Evelyn Doubrava of 22 years; siblings, Lucian, Genevieve, Isabell, Charles, Thomas and Mary Jane.

Emil is survived by:  his children, Nancy Pineda of San Marcos, Emil Gene Doubrava of Hallettsville and Martin James Doubrava of Victoria; grandchildren, Casandra Lorentson, Brittany Pineda, Francisco Pineda Jr., Shellie Applet, Lori Smolik, Nettie Doubrava and Samuel Doubrava; great grandchildren, Melody Lorentson, Jace Pineda, Quinn Pineda, Corlie Garza, Chase Applet, Colton Appelt and Mason Walker; and great great grandchild Sutton Garza.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Monday, November 24, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation starting at 5 pm Sunday and Rosary at 6 pm at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Rev. Michael Rother. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Donor's choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
