Obituary

Dr. Elton Bernard Hale, 94, of Houston, passed away October 3, 2009. He was born on June 11, 1915 to Bernard B. & Julia Paulus Hale in Hallettsville. He was a retired Professor Emeritus of Business Economics at Rice University and Alumnus of Rice University. A distinguished, loving, and quiet man, who taught in public schools and attaining the level of Principal in his early years. He served his country in WWII, and ventured into "Wild Catting" in the oil days before returning to teaching as a professor at Rice University. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Elton is survived by a dearest companion, Linda Carter of Houston.

Elton was preceded in death by: his parents and sister Velma Schnieder.

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 12 noon, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
