IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elroy Alfred
Tesch
December 23, 1922 – November 16, 2024
Through God's grace and mercy, Elroy Alfred Tesch, Sr., passed to his final rest quietly on the evening of Saturday, November 16. He was born in Lavaca County December 23, 1922, to Alfred & Lilie Rother Tesch Sr. and was the oldest of eight. When he fell asleep in Jesus, he was providentially surrounded by his loving family.
In addition to his profound love for family, he maintained a staunch faith and hope in his Savior Jesus Christ. We know his life is "hid [in, and] with Christ (Colossians 3:3,4) and he is at peace resting in Jesus.
From the earliest years of their marriage, he and Louise traveled as he worked with Lane Water Wells. His last job was as lead fabricator for Houston-based EFCO. He lived for his family. The extended family would often gather at one another's homes, where cousins bonded and adults visited.
Through the years, Elroy provided for his family as needed. After retirement, he moved back to the country, where he loved gardening, raising bees and caring for grandchildren. Dad enjoyed playing dominoes, whether it was "Straight," "42" or "Moon." He had a memory for times and loved sharing his experiences.
Elroy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Louise. He is survived by Elroy (JR) Tesch Jr. and wife Sonja of AR; by Katharine Hays of Hallettsville; by Cecilia and husband Jim Overstreet of Shiner; by Mike Tesch and wife Elaine of Willis, TX; by Robert Tesch and wife Robin of Shiner; and by Rick Tesch and wife Paula of Katy, TX. Dad leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and an untold number of friends.
