Obituary

Mrs. Elouise Motal Haba passed away at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center on December 15, 2006, at the age of 92 years, 5 days, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Elouise Motal Haba was born December 10, 1914 at Komensky to Tomas and Frantiska (Nesvadba) Motal, the 10th of eleven children. She attended school at Moravia and Komensky and graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1935. In August 1936 she married Joe Haba and shortly thereafter they bought a farm a Moravia. Elouise was a devoted wife and mother. After the death of her husband in 1985, Elouise moved to Hallettsville where she resided until September 2005, when she moved to Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center. Her favorite pastime was reading the daily paper where she could keep up with the latest news.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and three children, David Ralph Haba, JoNell Haba, Phyllis Haba Mican; son-in-law Dr. Gene Brossmann, and all ten siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Brossmann of Bryan, and Babette Skalka and husband Erwin of LaGrange; son-in-law Harry Mican of Katy; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Private Family Graveside Service at a later date. Memorials: American Cancer Society or Hospice of South Texas.
