Obituary

Elizabeth Bollom Hermes passed away in Citizens Hospital March 12, 2012 with her children and grandchildren by her side. Elizabeth fondly called Nan by her family, was born October 20, 1932 in Hallettsville, Texas to Alphonse Leopold and Clara Bludau Leopold. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Most importantly, she lived her life as a true Good Samaritan. She spoke often of the days of her youth and her wonderful experiences growing up with seven siblings. Elizabeth married Jaro Bollom in 1951; he preceded her in death in 1959. In 1976 Elizabeth married Edward Hermes in Koerth, Texas.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Edward Hermes of Hallettsville; her children, Pat Bollom of Hallettsville, Ronnie and Diane Bollom of Victoria, Mike and Judy Bollom of Austin, and Karen and Harvey Renger of Hallettsville; sisters, Mary Lee Supak of Hallettsville and Mildred Bollom of Houston; brothers, Andrew Leopold Sr. of Hallettsville, Paul Leopold and Robert Leopold of Rockdale.

She was preceded in death by her brother; Alois Leopold.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Erinn Bollom, Kaci Bollom, Garret Bollom, Charlie Bollom, Alicia Bollom Harsh, Krisha Renger Belz, Jessica Renger Trozzo, Roddy Renger, and Richard Renger; and her great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Bollom, Jordyn Bollom, Jake Belz, Wyatt Belz, Annie Trozzo, Jace Trozzo, and Ryder Renger.

Nan gifted her family with amazing selfless love and lots of good food. She left a legacy of a prayerful life.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Kubena Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass honoring her life will be on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth, Texas. Interment will follow the Service at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Garret Bollom, Charlie Bollom, Jeffery Belz, Matt Trozzo, David Harsh, and Donnie Leopold. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaime Hermes, Patrick Hermes, Lawrence Hermes, Roddy Renger, Ken Hermes, Carl Hermes, and Richard Renger.

Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or donor's choice.
