Eleanor
Huser
October 1, 1921 – May 12, 2015
Eleanor Huser, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away May 12, 2015. She was born on Oct. 1, 1921, to Joseph & Pauline Leopold Grahmann in Hallettsville. She married Ben Huser on July 31, 1951, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, with a reception at her father's home. Ben then moved into the home with Eleanor and her Father. After her father's passing in 1964, they purchased the Grahmann family farm, where they raised their children. Eleanor took care of all that was needed at home while Ben worked at Weingartens. In addition to cooking, canning, and gardening; she and the children worked in the fields. After Ben's death on June, 25th 1983 she focused on spending time with her family as much as she could.
Eleanor was a fantastic baker and was most famous for her homemade bread, oatmeal cookies, pecan & pear pies. She lovingly spent countless hours in the garden growing fresh fruits & vegetables that she then served to her family and friends. Eleanor had a close relationship with her sister, Pauline Huser, and niece, Shirley Hollas. Together, Eleanor & Pauline, were always ready to go camping at the lake or fishing at the coast with their children and grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to her, she spent many days with them swinging out in the yard or spoiling them in the kitchen. She had a deep devotion to the rosary, the Blessed Mother, and frequently attended daily mass. Eleanor's faith in God enabled her to overcome any hardships or challenges she faced, especially in her golden years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, Texas.
