Obituary

Elberta "Berd" Zavesky, 96, of Hallettsville, passed away April 10, 2010. She was born on October 23, 1913 to Henry C. & Augusta Rother Randow in Cuero. She married Frank Zavesky on May 11, 1936 in Hallettsville. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Berd's family was an extremely important, especially her two grandsons, Eric and Alex Zavesky. Berd loved playing games of any kind; bridge, bingo, golf, dominoes, and always played to win. Christ was an important part of her life too; she belonged to and worked in many organizations at St. Peter Lutheran Church. She will certainly missed by all.

Berd is survived by: son Byron Zavesky and wife Mary of Houston; sister Doris Killam of San Angelo, TX; 2 grandsons, Eric & Amy Zavesky of Hoboken, NJ, and Alex Zavesky & Jackie Hill of Houston; great granddaughter Riley Zavesky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Berd was preceded in death by: her husband Frank Sr., son Frank Zavesky Jr., parents, sister Delores Lutz, and brother Wilbert H. Randow.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Herb Beyer. Pallbearers: Eric Zavesky, Alex Zavesky, Harold Lutz, Terry Lutz, Ted Winder, Greg Bouligny, and James Marek. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas, Schulenburg Regency, or St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
