Edwin Hasiel Ochoa, of Hallettsville, Texas, was granted his angel wings on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the age of 7. When he went to be to be with Jesus he was surrounded by his family and friends.
Edwin was born September 19, 2009 in Houston, Texas to Rosa Molina and Hector Ochoa. The family moved to Mississippi where they lived until Edwin was two years old. In 2011, he and his parents, along with his older sister, relocated to Hallettsville. He attended Hallettsville Head Start in 2014 and began school at Hallettsville Elementary. He completed first grade in May 2017.
Edwin enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved dinosaurs, riding his bicycle, playing outside with his sister and friends; he also enjoyed playing soccer and cheering on his favorite soccer team ¨Tigres¨ [UANL]. Edwin was also known for his ¨green thumb,¨ whatever Edwin planted flourished. At age 5, Edwin planted pumpkin seeds and carefully cared for them throughout the winter. He would cover them at night to protect them from the frost and harvested a big pumpkin that May. He loved planting seeds and watching them grow with pride. We will see and feel Edwins' presence in the aroma and color of the flowers.
Edwin is survived by: his parents Rosa Molina and Hector Ochoa, his sister Camila Ochoa,as well as his brother Hector Alejandro Ochoa, maternal grandparents Macaria Guzman and Agustin Molina; Paternal grandfather Alejandro Ochoa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.
Edwin was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Jovita Loera.
Through our faith we are reminded that his life is one to be celebrated. We will miss him everyday, especially his beautiful smile, but he will forever remain in our hearts.
The Ochoa - Molina family would like to thank everyone for their support and thoughtfulness during this difficult time. Your kindness and outpouring of love is appreciated by the entire family.
We never lose the people we love, Edwin will live forever in our hearts.
Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters.
