Edna (Klesel) Bludau, 92, of Hallettsville, passed away on November 28, 2020.  Edna was born on October 16, 1928 in Schulenburg to Edmund and Anna (Till) Klesel.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Edna married Bernie Bludau on October 11, 1948 in Schulenburg at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and settled in Hallettsville where they raised their fourteen children.

Edna enjoyed her long life as a wife, homemaker, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She especially loved the many gatherings with her family, all of the weddings, births, reunions and parties.  She also enjoyed her many years of quilting with the Sacred Heart Quilting Circle.  In her later years at Hallettsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, she loved the activities there, especially bingo and dominoes, and all of the friendships of the patients and staff.  A very special thank you to all of the staff for their love and care during the past 4 years.

Edna is survived by:  her 13 children, B.J. Bludau, Sister Mary Jean Bludau, Doris Chandler & husband Dave, Loretta Carpenter & husband Wayne, Mary Mathis & husband Don, Theresa Hunt & husband Johnny, Bernice Bludau, Debbie Wallace & husband Wayne, Cindy Otten, Gerrie Daly & husband John, Stan Bludau & wife Candy, Scott Bludau & wife Kerry and Jennifer Esteves & husband John; as well as her 16 grandchildren and their spouses;  and seven great-grandchildren;  and sister, Sister M. Claudia Klesel.

Edna was preceded in death by; Bernie in 2009 after 60 years of marriage; son Steve in 1980; five sisters and four brothers.

Private Family Funeral Mass.   Pallbearers: David Chandler, Don Mathis, Wayne Carpenter, John Esteves, Wayne Wallace and John Daly. Honorary Pallbearer: Johnny Hunt. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
