Obituary

Edell Mascheck Adams, 81, of Hallettsville, passed away July 24, 2009. She was born on November 12, 1927 to Henry & Selma Kupatt Menke in Shiner. She married Leopold Mascheck on May 5, 1946 in Shiner. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children. Edell spent 35 years working for the Department of Agriculture. She was an active member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and numerous friends. She spent many joyful years traveling, going to dances and playing cards. Later in her life she met and married Ray Adams on February 26, 2000 at St. Peter Lutheran Church and they spent 9 happy years together.

Edell is survived by: her 2nd husband Ray; son Ronnie Mascheck & wife Sharon of Rosenberg; daughter Gayle Henke & husband Patrick of Hallettsville; brother Willert Menke of Mount Pleasant; sister Ruby Baker of Houston; 7 grandchildren, Lynn Mascheck and wife Brenda, Brent Mascheck and wife Jan, Candace Grafe, Jill Grafe, Nathan Grafe, Jennifer Noska and husband Brandon, and Jason Henke; 8 great grandchildren, Matthew and Brandey Mascheck, Blake and Kori Mascheck; Riley, Reagan and Zachary (Jr.) Grafe, and Anneliese Noska; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edell was very much looking forward to the birth of her newest great-granddaughter, who was going to be her namesake, Ainsley Dell.

Edell was preceded in death by: 1st husband Leopold "Lep" H. Mascheck; son Emery L. Mascheck; parents; brother Monroe Menke; sister Marie Bohmann; and grandchild Zachary Grafe.

Edell will be greatly missed and everyone who knew her is blessed to have had her be part of their lives.

Service: 10 am, Monday, July 27, 2009 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 2 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home; family will be receiving visitors from 5 pm to 7 pm. Officiate: Rev. Dr. Alan Williams. Pallbearers: Jason Henke, Nathan Grafe, Brent Mascheck, David Smolik, Paul Green, Larry Menke, David Baker, Edgar "BO" Bohmann. Memorials: American Cancer Society, St. Peter Lutheran Church, and Hospice of South Texas. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
