Obituary

Mrs. Eddie Clair Roddy Brown, 89, of Vienna, died August 2, 2007. She was born on February 12, 1918 to Dewitt & Myrtle Fenner Roddy near Speaks. She married Lewis E. Brown on August 24, 1944 in San Marcos. Teaching school was her job and her pleasure. She molded many minds during her 25+ years of teaching which included Honey Creek, Ezzell, and Provident City. Her hobbies was reading and visiting with family and friends. She was a long time member of Vienna Baptist Church.

Eddie is survived by: 2 sons, Bobby Brown & wife Kathy of Hallettsville, and Gary Brown & wife Sally of Vienna; daughter Sharon Guss & husband Tom of Galveston; sister Annie Loys Burt of Hallettsville; 6 grandchildren, Bradley Guss, Melissa Forman, Jennifer Harris, Jay Brown, Jimmie Lou Brown, and Samuel Brown; step grandchild Dennis Strauss Jr.; and 2 great grandchildren, Leah Forman and Madison Guss.

Eddie Clair was preceded in death by: her husband Lewis on December 14, 1994; parents; brother D. T. Roddy Jr.

Service: 2 pm, Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 1 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home; with family receiving visitors from 5 pm to 7pm that Saturday. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Officiate: Brother Joe Wes Rubac. Pallbearers: Brad Guss, Tom Guss, Jay Brown, Samuel Brown, Jarad Forman, and Michael Harris. Honorary Pallbearers: the employees at The Williamsburg House. Memorials: Vienna Baptist Church, or Donor's Choice.
