Mrs. Dorothy Faye Willeford, 88, of Hallettsville, died March 16, 2008. She was born on August 27, 1919 to Harmon & Ava Jacobs Mayo in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Willis L. Willeford on March 28, 1948 in Cuero. She was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and Church of Christ of Hallettsville.

Dorothy is survived by: step-daughter Janet Williams & husband Albert of Corpus Christi; 5 grandchildren, Cathi Smith of Corpus Christi, Rhonda Williams of Goliad, Bonny Cowart of Corpus Christi, Annette Billingsley of College Station, and Wayne Williams of Corpus Christi; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews, Edward, William "Buddy", and Alton Hermes; and numerous great nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: husband Willis on Sept. 17, 1985; 5 sisters, Kittie Lee Hobbs, Ollie Greer, Lucy Hermes, Bessie Olson, and Bertha DeBord; and brother Webb Mayo.

Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Kubena Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 12 noon, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home; with the family receiving visitors from 5 pm to 7 pm that Tuesday. Officiate: Mr. Elvis Johnston. Pallbearers: Carl Hermes, Jamie Hermes, Ken Hermes, Lawrence Alton Hermes Jr., Pat Hermes, Wayne  Williams, Jesse Kirkland, and Elvis Johnston. Honorary Pallbearers: Albert Williams, William "Buddy" Hermes, Edward Hermes, and Alton Hermes. Burial: Salem Cemetery. Memorials: Church of Christ of Hallettsville, American Cancer Society, or Donor's Choice.
