Obituary

Dorothy Bujnoch Svetlik, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away November 18, 2010. She was born on September 23, 1921 to Jim & Adella Boehm Bujnoch in Lavaca County, TX. She married Victor A. Svetlik on Oct. 24, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth, TX. After 59 years of marriage, she lost her loving husband on March 25, 2004.

Dorothy, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was a homemaker and a member of K.J.Z.T., Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. She enjoyed visiting with her family and cooking, especially kolaches, sausage rolls and pies.

Dorothy is survived by: 3 daughters, Dorothy Etzler & husband Joseph Jr. of Hallettsville, Doris Leopold & husband Paul of Rockdale, and Annie Svetlik of Hallettsville; 2 sons, Victor J. Svetlik & wife Vicky of Rockdale and Johnny Svetlik & wife Marilyn of Hallettsville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother James Bujnoch & wife Ruby; sister-in-laws, Helen Bujnoch and Ann Birkner; and brother-in-law Mitchell Harbus Jr. & wife Irene.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; great grandchildren, Reese and Riley Manning; step-mother Jenovefa Bujnoch; brother Eugene Bujnoch; and sisters Gertrude Lawrence and Valerie Harbus.

Funeral Mass Service: 1 pm, Sunday, November 21, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth. Visitation: 2pm Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Wake Service: 7 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers (grandsons): Joseph C. Etzler, Kevin Etzler, Paul A. Leopold, Chase Svetlik, Ethan Svetlik, Jared Manning, Richard Krenek, Brian Proudley, David Ashley Knesek, Jeff King, and Joel Hatcher. Honorary Pallbearers (granddaughters): Tracy Manning, Tammy Krenek, Roxanne Proudley, Renee Knesek, Rebecca King, Rose Hatcher, Jani Etzler, Brenda Etzler, and Regina Leopold. Memorials: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or Hospice of South Texas. Burial: Koerth Catholic Cemetery.
