Dorothy Nell Gregory McElroy, 98, of Ezzell, passed away May 3, 2024.  She was born on October 30, 1925, to the late Hill E. & Mae Stockton Gregory, in Lavaca County, TX.  She married Morris D. McElroy on September 1, 1943, in Hallettsville.

Dorothy is survived by: sister Joyce Appelt; daughter-in-law Melissa McElroy, Jewel Spree & husband Delton; grandsons, Allen McElroy & wife Tina, and Charles Soechting & wife Lindsey, great grandson Charles Jr; great great granddaughter Emory; granddaughter Tammy Williams & husband Randy, great grandson Clayton; great granddaughter Alexis Vickery & husband Michael, great great grandson Rowan

Dorothy was preceded in death by:  husband; parents; and 2 sons, Moris Allen McElroy Sr. and Roger Dale McElroy; and brother Clarence Gregory.

Dorothy loved dancing, fishing mowing the lawn, gardening, canning and spending time with her family.  She will be terribly missed.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Kubena Funeral Home; with Visitation starting at 9 am. Pallbearers: Rudy Moreno, Ross Woytasczyk, Darrel McElroy, Ryan McElroy, Bobby Appelt and Joe Ingram. Honorary Pallbearers: Ronnie McElroy, Donnie McElroy, Frankie Lee McElroy and Charles Soechting. Officiant: Pastor Jim Herrington. Memorials: Salem Baptist Church of Ezzell or Donor's Choice. Burial: Salem Cemetery.
