Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy 'Barta' Brunkenhoefer, 79, of Breslau, went to be with the Lord and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 21, 2007 after an illness with cancer. She was born on Jan. 27, 1928 in Hallettsville to the late Albin J. & Julia Drozd Barta. She married Adam Brunkenhoefer Sr. on Nov. 19, 1945 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Dorothy is survived by: 2 daughters, Cathy Ray of Victoria, and Barbara Mikulenka of San Antonio; 2 sons, Adam Brunkenhoefer Jr. of Shiner, and George Brunkenhoefer of Victoria; brother Alvin J. Barta of East Bernard; sister Viola Grahmann of Hallettsville; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: husband Adam Brunkenhoefer Sr. on June 16, 2003; daughter Carol Ann Brunkenhoefer; parents; and brother Eugene H. Barta.

Dorothy was blessed during her 79 years with the most wonderful and precious memories of love she shared and gave to all her family & Friends.

Service: 10 am, Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: Noon, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Myron Mikulenka Jr., Chad Chandler, Wayne Brunkenhoefer, Harvey Drozd, Bob Weiss, and Dwayne Drozd. Honorary Pallbearers: Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, and Cousins. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas, American Cancer Society, or Donor's Choice.
