Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Kutach Beyer Havran, 71, of Houston, died Nov. 20, 2007. She was born April 26, 1936 to John F. & Jenovefa Recek Kutach in Wied, Texas. She grew up on their family farm in the Wied Community with her parents, one sister Henrietta, and one brother Jerome "Jerry". Dorothy attended Wied School, and in her spare time, learned to cook delicious meals for her family as well as fish with her siblings.

Dorothy married Anton "Tony" H. Beyer Jr. on Feb. 21, 1955 at St. Mary's Church. The family farmed was in the Moulton and Shiner Communities until they moved to Houston in 1962. Tony passed away in 1969, and on August 1, 1975, Dorothy remarried Charles "Charlie" Havran. Dorothy and Charlie enjoyed traveling many weekends to see their family through out the years, and most of all enjoyed their grandchildren.

Dorothy loved the Lord, and all the joys He provided her with throughout her years on Earth including cooking, gardening, fishing, her Chihuahuas, and most of all her family. She was a member of SPJST Lodge 142, St. Isidore Society, and St. Jerome Catholic Church in Houston.

Dorothy is survived by: son Robert J. Beyer Sr. & wife Janyce of Waller; 2 grandchildren, Robert "Robby" J. Beyer Jr. & wife Julie of Hempstead, and Kathryn Hughes & husband Mike of Houston; niece Charlene Morris and husband Lowell of Yoakum; and nephew Charles Christen and friend Mary Lou Peters of Houston.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: 1st husband Anton on Dec. 27, 1969; 2nd husband Charles on Jan. 24, 1997; parents; sister Henrietta Christen; and 2 brothers, John and Jerome Kutach.

Visitation: from 6pm to 8pm, Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 with a 7:15pm rosary at Waltrip Funeral Home Chapel, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston. Funeral Service: 1pm, Monday at St. Mary's Church near Hallettsville, Texas, with visitation at 7am that Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Michael Rother. Pallbearers: Charles Christen, Lowell Morris, Robby Beyer, Mike Hughes, Henry Joe Repka, and Blake Brunner. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
