November 14, 1938 – November 30, 2025
Doris Ann Honish, 87, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2025. She was born to August J. & Sophie (Rehak) Melnar in Moulton, Texas on November 14, 1938. At an early age, she worked alongside her mother milking the cows and delivering the milk to their customers in the town of Moulton. She was the youngest of two daughters and attended Moulton School. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville.
Doris married Joe Max Honish on July 14, 1957, in Moulton, Texas and together they were blessed with two sons, Russell Joe and Michael James. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom. She loved her flower beds and her garden, and spending many hours caring for them. She was also an excellent cook, especially steak and gravy, turkey and dressing, and her beef roast. Although she was a vegetarian, her meat dishes were delicious.
Christmas was one of Doris's favorite times of the year. She made everyone's favorite dish and decorated every free space in the house. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and her great-grandsons and always had treats for them whenever they came. She was dedicated to her church and always put the Lord first in her life.
