Donald Ray Wojtek, 65, of Hallettsville, passed away September 24, 2016. He was born on March 10, 1951 to Frank J. & Aline Zak Wojtek in the small community of Vsetin near Hallettsville. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Donald worked on the family farm during his childhood. He graduated from Hallettsville High School and later at Baldwin Business College in Yoakum. After graduation, he worked a short time for Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner; and then moved to Weimar, where he worked for Utex Industries. Later due to health reasons, he moved back to Hallettsville and lived in his hometown on his parent's property. He moved to Stevens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in September of 2004.

Donald enjoyed playing dominoes and bingo. He had numerous trophies for his domino winnings. He also enjoyed playing the clarinet and singing to all types of music, with his favorites being polkas and waltzes. Donald was a fan of the Houston Astros and an avid weather watcher. He loved discussing rainfall and severe weather.

Donald is survived by: his mother Aline Wojtek of Hallettsville; brother Frank A. Wojtek & wife Marla of Richmond; sister Gloria Kostelnik & husband Ronald of Hallettsville; 4 nieces Angela Pustka, Melinda Poeling, Lisa Wojtek and Tara Wojtek; and nephew Kevin Wojtek.

Donald was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville with Visitation starting at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers: Allen Zak Sr., Ronald Kostelnik, Scott Pustka, Stevon Poeling, David Zak, and Allen Zak Jr. Officiant: Rev. Ray Hagan. Burial: Vsetin Cemetery. Memorials: St. Peter Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
