Obituary

Dollie M. Parr, 73, of Hallettsville, passed away July 14, 2107. She was born on July 9, 1944 to Luther L. & Mary Wick in Lavaca County, TX.

Dollie attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. She then went to work at Ben Franklin's, on the square, in Hallettsville, where she worked with one of her dear friends, Mary Lee Laake. She loved her favorite pastimes, riding around Hallettsville, and the surrounding areas with her friends, going out to dinner, (which, by the way, happened to be her most favorite), playing bingo and dancing. She also loved game shows on TV, and would always try to stay ahead of the game show contestants.

Dollie went on to work for the Goetz Petroleum Company, which she dearly loved and where she made many more friends. In her later years, her many, many friends at Brookshire Bros. in Hallettsville, became her second home and family. You could find her there almost every day, at the deli tables, talking, laughing and, of course, eating. Along with her friends, she would celebrate birthdays, share stories, past and present, and genuinely, enjoy their company. She made many lasting and happy memories with each of them.

Dollie also loved her catholic faith. You could find her at mass, every Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. She belonged to a prayer group, which she visited faithfully. One of her favorite hobbies, was collecting rosaries, which she loved so much. One of her greatest gifts was a rosary given to her by her family at Brookshire Bros.

Ultimately, she lived life to its fullest. And she did it her way.

Dollie is survived by: her brother and sister – in – law, Maurice & Marjorie Parr; her two nieces and nephews – in – law, Lisa and James Adams and Melinda (Schaefer) Grahmann and Tommy Grahmann Jr; four great nephews and their wives, Jonathan Schaefer & wife Michelle, Cory Schaefer & wife Sandy, Aaron Schaefer & fiancé Sydney Moore, and Michael Adams; one great niece, Sandra Adams; and six great, great nieces, Taylor Schaefer, Addison Schaefer, Brooklyn Schaefer, Ashtyn Schaefer, Aubrianah Schaefer and Timberley Schaefer. She is also survived by her very close friends Shara Stroup and daughter April, and her very dear friends at Brookshire Bros.
