Obituary

Diane Lee Green Bishop, 73, left this world in sure and certain hope of the resurrection on November 13, 2021.  She was a longtime resident of Ezzell, Texas where she lived with her husband, Roger Bishop, of 55 years and raised their four children—Jeffrey Paul Bishop, Christa Lyn Bishop Marek, Nathan Wesley Bishop and Matthew Todd Bishop.  She served as a Teacher's Assistant and reading specialist at Ezzell School for 25 years, where she taught hundreds of children to read.

Diane was born on April 7, 1948 to Thomas Wesley Green and Florence Springfield Green in Kosciusko, Mississippi.  She was the youngest of three children, being born 3 minutes after her twin brother, Dennis Green.  She moved with her parents, Dennis, and her older brother Donald Green to Yoakum, Texas, in 1953, where she graduated from Yoakum High School in 1966. She married Roger Bishop on September 2, 1966.

Diane is survived by:  her husband Roger; two brothers, Dennis Green (Betty) and Donald Green (Bonnie); her children; daughters-in-law, Cynthia Bishop, Angela Bishop, and Catherine Bishop; son-in-law, Victor Marek; 11 grandchildren, Devin Nicole Otto Grasshoff (husband Jake Grasshoff), Alyson Jaye Otto (fiancé Jered Carrizales), Madeleine Bishop, Isabel Bishop, Lydia Bishop, Henry Bishop, Felix Bishop, Lyla Bishop, Amelia Bishop, Vincent Bishop, and Nora Bishop; five great-grandchildren, Jaycee Grasshoff & Ridge Grasshoff, Alyana Carrizales, Abygail Carrizales, and Jonah Carrizales.

Diane is preceded in death by her father and mother.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville, TX. Visitation: 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Victor Marek, Jake Grasshoff, Jered Carrizales, Lamar Hellums, Ryan Hellums, Brent Bishop, Darren Green, and Ryan Green. Honorary Pallbearers: are grandchildren, great grandchildren, Kyle Hellums and Michael Wyatt. Officiant: Don Stevens. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): the Diane Bishop Memorial Fund for Literacy.
