Debra Kay
Lorfing
June 4, 1958 – February 21, 2020
Debra Kay Lorfing, 61, of Inez, passed away on February 21, 2020. She was born in Chula Vista, California to Garold and Nalda Johnson on June 4, 1958, the same day as her parent's 11th wedding anniversary.
Debra was raised in Spring Valley, California and graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1975.
She met her future husband, Alan, who was homeported in San Diego. After Alan's discharge from the Navy, Debra joined him back to his home in Victoria, Texas, where they later married at First English Lutheran Church on June 4, 1981. In 1985, their first daughter, Kellie, was born.
In 1987, they moved into their life-long home in Inez. In 1990, their second daughter, Michelle, was born.
Debra was always involved in her children's activities and was their #1 fan. She was supportive in all of their endeavors, while being a homemaker and attending Victoria College, where she obtained two degrees in 2002.
For the last 13 years, Debra's most joyous times were spent with her 4 granddaughters, and 1 grandson, who adored her greatly as their Mimi. Together they made memories creating arts and crafts, baking, putting puzzles together, and being entertained by plenty of Mimi's storytelling.
