Sue Schnell, 64, of Lakeway, Texas passed away on October 12, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 27, 1944 to Wayne and Hattie Throgmorten in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Sue attended grade school and middle school in Southard Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Canton, Oklahoma. On September 8, 1962, Sue married Keith Schnell and together they had 2 beautiful daughters. Sue spent her life as a devoted housewife, caring mother, and loving grandmother. She really enjoyed traveling and was able to see much of the world due to Keith's employment with Proctor & Gamble. They lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Huntsville, Alabama; Cincinnati, Ohio; Budapest, Hungary; Cairo, Egypt; and Southampton, England. They retired to Lakeway in 2000 to be near their grandchildren.
Sue really enjoyed living oversees, especially in Budapest. She was never intimidated by the unknown nor afraid to go out of her comfort zone. Whether she was chaperoning a group of high school girls, riding on back of a motorcycle with Keith on a Greek Island, or living in an unknown Arab neighborhood, she had a quiet courageousness about her that allowed her to adapt to any situation. She especially exhibited this braveness in her 13 year battle with breast cancer. She fought with courage and dignity, and made her family proud.
Sue is survived by: her husband of 46 adventurous years, Keith; 2 daughters, Terri Lynn White and husband Jim of Cedar Park, Texas and Tracy Sue Werner and husband Joe of Lakeway; 2 granddaughters Siena Jo Werner and Maya Sue Werner of Lakeway; a sister Ellen Throgmorten of Amarillo, Texas and a brother Wayne Throgmorten Jr. of Panhandle, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Hattie Throgmorten.
A private family service was held at the City Cemetery in Hallettsville, Texas on October 14, 2008.
