David M. Silgero, 61, of Yoakum, passed away Aug. 8, 2010. He was born on Feb. 9, 1949 to Felipe & Andrea Chapa Silgero in Lavaca County, Texas. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

David is survived by: his companion Janie Mesa of Yoakum; 2 daughters, Stephanie Smolik and Dana Silgero of Hallettsville; 4 step-sons, Travis, Brian, Bruno, and Frank Mesa of Yoakum; 2 step-daughters, Rose and Lena Mesa of Yoakum; 7 brothers, Daniel, Gilbert, Raymond, Philip, Fred, Felix, and Richard Silgero; 3 sisters, Susie Martinez, Rosie Muniz, and Virginia Bargas; and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by: his parents; 3 brothers, two at infancy and John Silgero; sister at infancy; and 3 nephews, Adrian Muniz, Inez Silgero, and Matthew Bargas.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 3 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Aaron Muniz, Michael Silgero, Renee Silgero, Andre Muniz, Travis Mesa, Brian Mesa, Bruno Mesa, and Charles Rosales. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
