David Anthony Kostelnik, 59, of Hallettsville, passed away Nov. 27, 2011. He was born on July 13, 1952 to Tom H. & Peggy Zrzavy Kostelnik in Hallettsville. He married Marsha Riske on April 8, 1972. He was a member of CWA and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

David graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1971. He worked for SBC/AT&T for 32 ½ years, retiring in April 2009. He was a very devoted employee and made many friends of co-workers and clients through the years. He bought a 69 Camaro for his boys so they could restore it, and took it to the races in Sealy on Friday nights. He also enjoyed hunting, his cattle, and doing whatever needed to be done at the river.

David is survived by: his wife Marsha of 39 years; 2 sons, Brian D. Kostelnik & wife Kristi of Hallettsville, and Kevin P. Kostelnik & wife Loren of Victoria; Parents Tom H. & Peggy Zrzavy Kostelnik; 3 brothers, Thomas W. Kostelnik & wife Kathy of Yoakum, Ronald Kostelnik & wife Gloria of Hallettsville, and Mike Kostelnik & wife Theresa of Hallettsville; mother-in-law Ione Riske of Hallettsville; brothers- in-law Jimmy Franta of Bellville, and Alan Riske & wife Kathy of Pflugerville; sisters-in-law Joan Boulware & husband David of San Antonio, and Karen Michalec & husband Mike of New Braunfels; 5 grandchildren, Trenton, Kaitlin, Presley, Taylor and Christopher with one grandchild on the way; and nieces & nephews.

David was preceded in death by: his son Christopher Kostelnik; sister Debi Franta; nephew Timothy Kostelnik; father-in-law E.E. Riske; and Twin infant brothers.

Funeral Mass Service: 10:30 am, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Brian, Kevin, Thomas, Ronnie & Mike Kostelnik, and Les Hemby. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
