David Walker Jr., 82, of Hallettsville, formerly of Yoakum, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2012. He was born on March 20, 1929 to David & Eva Lindsey Walker Sr., in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Lupe Cruz on July 4, 1992 in Hallettsville. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from February 1951 to January 1953, and a member of the American Legion of Yoakum. He was employed at Grafe Chevrolet for the past 20 years.

David is survived by: wife Lupe; 2 sons, Richard Cruz & wife Lynne of Poteet, TX, and Joe Cruz & wife Melissa of Yoakum; 3 daughters, Maggie Cruz of Hallettsville, Michelle Cruz of San Antonio, and Lisa Philpott & husband Neil of Leland, NC; previous marriage of 8 children, Alan Douglas of Yoakum, Janice Felder of Port Lavaca, Douglas Walker of Yoakum, Gloria Walker of Yoakum, Lottie Walker of Yoakum, Lester Walker of Houston, Calvin Walker of Yoakum, Leon Walker of Yoakum; sister Jewel Wilson & husband Francis; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Hagan & wife Christie, Crystal Ford & husband Tony, Austin Smith, Richard Cruz III, Sirena Morgan, Andy Cruz, Kayla Cruz, Briar Cruz, Ereana Cruz, Robert Lee Trevino & wife Brittany, Felicia Trevino, and Kristin Jackson; and 7 great grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 children, David Walker III and Emma Walker; and sister Daisy Johnson & husband Leroy.
