Obituary

Dan H. Boone, of Hallettsville, passed quietly on April 3, 2015, at the age of 85, with family by his side. All who knew him knew how devoted he was to his lifetime partner and wife, Jackie, and how much he loved his family. His gentle nature and his love of all animals, both pets and wildlife, made him our personal version of St. Francis of Assisi.

He was a hardworking and humble man, whose life exemplified generosity, integrity, selflessness, kindness, and most of all, love, each and every day.

He had a successful career in the oil field industry in South Texas and Houston. Ultimately, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to the country where, despite numerous medical challenges, he continued to maintain his 20 acre piece of heaven until his final days.

His family is blessed by the legacy he has left behind, and the wisdom that he shared with us all.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Dawson and George, and his sister, Mary Nell Stockwell. He is survived by his beautiful bride of 65 years, Jackie, his brothers: Jim (& Joe), Mike (& Pat), Pete (& Mary Helen), David (& Margaret); his six children: Kathy (& Buddy) Naylor, Lisa Boone, Danny (& Rhonda) Boone, Steve (& Gem) Boone, Chris Boone, Melinda (& Kenny) Greeson; grandchildren: Emily (& Dan) Hunsaker, James (& Dianna) Naylor, Annie & Maddie Boone, Tara Atchinson, Tiki Reeder, Hunter Bigham, Jennifer (& John) Daman, Stephen (& Meghan) Boone, Zachary Boone, Jennifer, Chris, Nick, Christina & Jonathon Greeson and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 9:30 am. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters.

Please join the family immediately following Mass for refreshments in Sacred Heart's Family Center.
