IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clarence Ray
New
December 15, 1962 – January 18, 2022
Clarence Ray New, 59, of Hallettsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his home with his best friend by his side. He was born on December 15, 1962, in Ganado, Texas, to the late Oscar Louis New and Jane Fiew New. This loving dad, Popo and friend entered his eternal home in heaven after battling cancer.
Clarence learned to play the guitar at an early age with his two brothers, which sparked his lifelong love of music. He played the bass guitar in many different bands throughout his life and even had a couple of his own songs produced. Although getting injured at a young age, Clarence's determination never let that stop him from living a fulfilled life. If he was told that he wouldn't be able to do it, he proved them wrong time and time again. He was a hard worker and took joy in working on ranch and taking care of his cattle.
Clarence was a self-sufficient man of many talents. In his free time, he put his carpentry skills to work building customized furniture for family. Some of his many hobbies were playing music, RC cars with his boys, hunting, golfing, watching his sports, playing dominoes and enjoying a few beers with family and friends. He cherished his friendships with all of the people that he has worked with over the years in music production. He was a fun guy to be around and could always make you laugh. He was a proud dad and his children couldn't have asked for a better dad. He was a great listener and advice giver to them. He was also a very proud Popo and loved each of his grandkids dearly. He will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts. We can have comfort knowing that he is now at peace.
Clarence is survived by: three children, Clae Ross New & wife Melody Jeanene of Hallettsville, Lindsay Rae New Wolff & husband Andrew John Wolff of La Grange and Jake Ryan New & wife Karli Dae of Hallettsville; mother of their children Linda Ruth Herzik New; six grandchildren, Easton Ross, Jase Davin, Emerli Rae, Brya Lynn, Kambryn Dru and Rhylin Jane; two brothers, Brent Wayne New of Edna and James Louis (Bud) New of Edna; sister Rebecca Lynne New Utesey of Edna.
