Chris enjoyed sports. When he was young, he played baseball, and was on All Star teams. In high school, he played basketball. He liked to antagonize his dad about the Dallas Cowboys, and would raze Michael when the Cowboys were losing. He also enjoyed staying at both of his grandmothers' houses in the summer.

Chris had a talent for drawing. You could find his sketches pinned to the wall at his grandmother's house. He enjoyed the typical outdoor activities, including going to the beach, fishing, playing with his dog Shiloh. He participated in anything involving with his son Ryan, especially riding on the 4-wheeler. Once they got on the 4-wheeler, it was hard to get them off.

Chris was a devoted and loving father, and always gave Ryan his full attention.

Chris is survived by: his son Ryan Jares; his father Michael Jares & wife Janice; his mother Alice Baker & husband Larry; sisters & brothers, LeAnn Ponton & husband Joe, Keith Baker, Kayla Baker, and Steven Jares; grandmother, Cecilia Bujnoch; Ryan's mother Audrey Dolezal; Ryan's grandparents, Marvin & Linda Dolezal; nephews and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Joe & Banna "Sissy" Jares, and Victor Bujnoch; and nephew Thomas Ponton.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Larry Bujnoch, Frances Klekar, Keith Baker, Gene Schott, Glenn Janca, and Bill Klesel. Honorary Pallbearers: Charlene Klekar, Denise Bujnoch, Steven Jares, James Hessler, and Steven Dolezal. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
