Charles "Scooter" Wagner, 81, of Hallettsville, passed away May 13, 2015. He was born on July 16, 1933 to Otto & Julia Sieber Wagner in Baytown. He married Annie Ruth Pohl on Nov. 10, 1956 in Hallettsville.

Charles attended Baytown Jr. High in Baytown, Texas. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Texas. He received his diploma from Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Charles worked as a "Roughneck" in the oilfield before his employment with USI Chemical where he was a Lab Supervisor for 30+ years. He was an avid outdoors-man and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Scooter is survived by: 2 sons, Stephen Wagner & wife Charlotte of Baytown, and David Wagner & wife Sherrie of Ezzell; daughter Barbara Wagner of Hallettsville; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Scooter was preceded in death by: his wife Annie, parents, son George Wagner, and brother Sonny Wagner.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, May 18, 2015, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Karl Pohl, Kirk Regenbrecht, Stephen Wagner, Brian McKalip, John Hurr, and Brent Raschke. Honor Pallbearers: Jim Pohl, and Jason Raschke. Officiant: Rev. Andrew Taylor. Memorials: Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of South Texas, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Salem Cemetery.
