Obituary

Charles Oliver Bock was born on September 30, 1928 in Hallettsville, Lavaca County, Texas to Henry Oliver and Agnes "Frazier" Bock, as the younger of two children. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Marjorie Bock Miller. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

On May 1, 1955, Charles Oliver Bock married Grace Marie Cook in Shiner, Texas, at which time she became his best friend for fifty-one years. They shared many beautiful years together, being blessed with three children, Jean Appelt, John C. Bock and Leah Rother. Their marriage served as an example of what true love really is, and on May 7, 2006, his loving wife, Grace went to her eternal home to be with the Good Lord. Charles missed her dearly and waited for this day when he could reunite with her in heaven.

Charles lost his father at the age of thirteen, forcing him to start his working career at an early age. He started working at a Confectioner in Hallettsville at the age of 15, moving on to working at a Dry Good Store during his teen & younger years. Afterwards he started his own business the "C.O. Bock Hardware & Electrical Supplies" Store on the square in Hallettsville, Texas. In the early 60's Charles went to work for National Manufacturer Company as a Sales Representative selling hardware. His travel took him through most of South Texas where he made many friends and business acquaintances. After thirty-three years he retired and enjoyed his time with his wife on their farm raising cattle, fishing, cooking and just spending time together. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charles is survived by: his three children, Jean Appelt & husband Darrell, John Bock & wife Frances, and Leah Rother & husband Wayne; seven grandchildren, Jason Appelt & wife Carmen, Jill Loewe & husband Mike, Angela Kubenka & husband Greg, Miranda Halata & husband Dale, Charles J. Bock & Fiancé Devonne Michalacik, Justin Rother and Brett Rother; and six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Loewe, Alexi Loewe, Kenna Kubenka, Weston Appelt, Garrett Appelt and Grace Halata.
