Mr. Carl Travis Jahn, 73, of Hallettsville, died June 7, 2008. He was born on July 12, 1934 to Anton & Ivy Jemison Jahn in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Wilma Cook, served active duty in the U.S. Army, and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Carl is survived by: wife Wilma; daughter Carla Bethke & husband Peter of Hallettsville; brother Johnny Jahn & wife Elizabeth of Hallettsville; 2 sisters, Sophie Wood & husband Archibald of Yoakum, and Annie Marie Hall of Odessa; and 2 grandchildren, Tabitha and Peter Bethke.

Carl was preceded in death by: parents; 5 brothers, two at infancy, Charles "Vic" Jahn, William Wells Jahn, and Maurice Jahn; and 4 sisters, Viola Tesch, Rosalie Johnson, Carrie Mae Manuel, and Lee Ora Schott.
