Carl Douglas Holt, 60, of Sheridan, passed away Oct. 23, 2010. He was born on July 18, 1950 to Tommie C. & Evelyn Brocker Holt Sr. in Hallettsville. He married Judy Thompson Holt on July 25, 2003 in Hallettsville. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as Dougie, and was an avid hunter and fishman.

Dougie is survived by: his wife Judy Kay; his mother Evelyn Holt; 2 step children, Jeremy and Jessica Hill; 2 sons, Dusty Holt and Dusty Jackson; daughter Shonna Holt; brother Tommie Holt Jr. and wife Mary Jo; sister Elaine Dromgoole and husband Jack; 4 grandchildren, Shane, Christian, Draven, and Patrick; nephews, Jaylen and Justin; and nieces Ashley, Stephanie, Dianne, and Jackie.

Dougie was preceded in death by: his son Coby D. Holt, and his father Tommie C. Holt Sr.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 5pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Terry Horton. Pallbearers: Jeremy Hill, Justin Oaks, Jay Parsons, Stuart Ray, Chris Brocker, and Dusty Lane Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers: Harold Kloppenberg, Steven Ray Scott, and Buddy Brocker. Burial: Cheetham Cemetery, Sheridan, Texas. Memorials: Sheridan Elementary Scholarship Fund.
