Obituary

Bruce Ramsey Hirsch, 68, originally from Houston and now residing in Hallettsville, Texas, passed from this world into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on September 29, 2019.

Bruce was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 9, 1951, to his parents Robert W. Hirsch and Florence Marie Hall. He was a miracle baby in that he was the first baby to survive his type of major heart surgery at one month of age, thanks to celebrated John Hopkins Hospital surgeons Dr. Alfred Blaylock, Dr. Vincent Thomas and pioneer surgeon and researcher Dr. Helen Taussig. Bruce attended high school at Lamar High School, Houston, and graduated from the Houston Community College. He was especially proud to be a Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Sugar Land.

Bruce was one of those people that everyone liked. He was everyone's friend. His quick wit and one-liners kept all around him smiling and laughing. He loved music and played the drums. He was a champion drag race car driver and loved his unique Pontiac. Bruce was the consummate entrepreneur and was a partner and owner with his brother Bob in the Hirsch Brothers Stores, All-Star Screen Printers, and Adtex Specialty. Later he owned the Personal Property Stores. In 1994, he married Debbie Singleton and he went on to be a manager of warehouses, real estate broker and an instructor in real estate courses. Later, he drove limousines.

Bruce was a hard and tireless worker at whatever the task was in front of him and now he can finally rest. He is extraordinarily loved by his family and the many others who are blessed to have known him. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Bruce is survived by: his wife of 25 years, Deborah Hirsch; brother Bob & wife Jennifer Hirsch of Katy; nephews, Robert Hirsch & his wife Tori, Troy Frazee, Richard Hirsch; nieces, Cynthia Gallegos, Erica Hirsch & husband Jeff, Laura Rau & husband David Rau; stepfather Ali Abssi; sister-in-law Diana Hirsch; numerous grand nephews & nieces; and Deborah's son James McCrary.

Bruce was predeceased by; his father Robert William Hirsch, mother Florence Marie Hall Abssi, and brother William Herbert Hirsch.
