Bonnie Jean Selph, 81, of Hallettsville, passed away October 28, 2015. She was born September 15, 1934 to Estelle and Ed Henry in Cheetham, TX. She married her sweetheart Wallace Lott Selph on May 5th, 1951 in El Campo, Texas. Bonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallettsville and attended many Sunday worships as often as she could until she was no longer able to.
Bonnie always enjoyed sitting next to Wallace and watching her Houston Oilers and Texas Longhorns play football. Wheel of Fortune was also a favorite show for her to watch and she always won every game even when she wasn't correct in guessing the answers. She was a longtime fan of the soap opera All My Children and loved keeping up with all of the storylines of the characters. Bonnie will be remembered as a fantastic cook, at family get togethers always in the kitchen making her enchiladas, broccoli and rice and the homemade cheeseburgers that were a favorite of her children and grandchildren. If any of her kids or grandkids needed anything she would always be there to lend a hand, or an ear to listen to.
Along with being a military wife and a homemaker she was an employee of Kmart and JCPenney in Houston, TX for a number of years then when she and Wallace made the move to Yoakum, TX she worked at Tandy Brands in the return department until she retired.
Bonnie is survived by 3 children, Larry Selph & wife Jo Ann of Hallettsville, Terry Selph & wife Karen of Hallettsville, and Brenda Selph; 8 grandchildren, Timothy Sepulvado and fiancé Jill Heimer of Minnesota, Wendy Darnell of Minnesota, Bryan Daniels of Minnesota, Felicia Ramirez & husband Bob of Houston, Stacy Selph of Houston, Angelica Selph of Hallettsville, Mindy De La Rosa & husband PJ of Sweet Home, Jenny Selph of Hallettsville; 9 great-grandchildren, Alyssa & Samantha Sepulvado, Chandler & Tucker Darnell, Bob Jr, Tyler and Zachary Ramirez, Amaya Selph, and Quinn De La Rosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Estelle and Ed Henry, her loving husband Wallace Lott Selph and daughter Barbara Jean Daniels, 2 brothers Elroy and Davis Henry, 1 sister, Dell Paschall.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Pastor Joe Ward . Pallbearers: Billy Noska, Butch Paschall, Brandon Noska, Bob Ramirez, PJ De La Rosa, and Jason Jalufka. Memorials: First Baptist Church or Donor's Choice. Burial: Willow Creek Cemetery.
