Bobby Lee Dowdy Haines, age 99, passed away on October 3, 2025.  She was born September 4, 1926, in Stanton, Texas to Raymond Carl Dowdy & Thelma Evelyn (Sailors) Dowdy.  She was the middle child of three children, Jack Dowdy the eldest (deceased) and Betty Sue Dowdy (Trojanowsky) the youngest (deceased).  She graduated from Milby High School in Houston, Texas.  She was a member of Sheridan First Baptist Church.

Bobby met her husband Vernon Haines in chemistry class, and they were married for 41 years.  Vernon preceded her in death in 1987.  She attended secretarial school and worked as executive secretary to the vice president of Harrisburg Bank for many years and enjoyed meeting many astronauts who then became her clients

Bobby is survived by:  her son Charles Haines (Ida) of Sheridan; daughter Cathy Haines Young (Mike) of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Malcolm (Tamela), Amy (Rob), Becky and Kristen Young Bellows (Justin); 4 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Friday, October 10, 2025, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville; with Visitation starting at 11 am. Pallbearers: Justin Haines, Justin Bellows, Malcolm Haines, Lucas Smith, Jeremy Kratz and Rob Mitchell. Memorials: Donor's choice. Burial: Cheetham Cemetery, Sheridan Texas.
