Bobbie Jean Appelt, 52, of Hallettsville, passed away Oct. 8, 2011. She was born on March 12, 1959 to Alton A. & Imogene Castleman Pohl in Cleveland, Texas. She married Edward A. Appelt on Aug. 13, 1977 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Bobbie is survived by: her husband Edward; son Jared Appelt & wife Katherine of Hallettsville; 2 daughters, Shannon Johnson & husband Nick of Keller, and Angela Opela & husband Kelly of East Bernard; 5 brothers, David, Terry, Johnny, Alton Jr., and Daniel Pohl; 3 sisters, Jacqueline Hons of Hallettsville, Betty Sims of Victoria, and Sandra Foster of Hallettsville; and 4 grandchildren, Addison & Alyssa Opela, Bryce Johnson, and Lorelai Appelt.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: At the family request, there will be no Wake Service, but visitation will start at 5 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers: Randall Pohl, Jacob Sims, Jason Sims, Brandon Pohl, Eric Pohl, Robert Appelt, Alton "Janck" Pohl, and Chris Burger. Honorary Pallbearers: Austin Pohl, Preston Pohl, Matthew Pohl, Lance Reese, and Colton Foster. Memorials: American Cancer Society. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
