Obituary

Betty Jean Stepanek, 73, of Weimar, passed away November 27, 2020.  She was born on January 26, 1947, to George T. & Lonie Hoehne Svetlik Sr., in Hallettsville.  She married Eugene W. Stepanek, on September 4, 1965, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Hallettsville.  She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, KJZT and SPJST.

Betty liked reading, baking, sewing, doing puzzles, flower gardening and spending time with her dogs, Eli and Sam.

Betty is survived by:  2 daughters, Carol and Michele Stepanek; 2 brothers, George Svetlik Jr. & wife Patsy, and Gerald Svetlik & wife Kim; and 5 sisters, Virginia Grafe & husband Bill, Gayle Hoegemeyer & husband Jack, Melinda Sims & husband Mike, Cheryl Partney & husband Keith and Laura Neal & husband Gary; sisters-in law, Lily Shimek and Helen King: and numerous nieces and nephews..

Betty was preceded in death by; her husband, parents and infant brother.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 11:30 am, Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, TX; with Rosary starting at 11 am; and Visitation starting at 10 am.  Pallbearers:  Aaron Svetlik, Jason Grafe, Mike Sims, Mark King, Keith Partney, and Koen Partney. Honorary Pallbearers: Charlie Lozano, Jonathan Hoegemeyer, Devin Partney and Maribeth Sims. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: American Heart Association or Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Weimar, TX.
