Betty Gail Fertsch, 74, was born on November 6, 1942 in Hallettsville, and died Monday, January 23, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin D. Fertsch, Mother Gladys (Schlitzkus) Fertsch, and sister Peggy Joyce (Fertsch) Best. Because of injuries at birth, Betty Gail resided for many years in the Abilene, Texas State School and later was relocated to a Dallas, Texas group home. She loved to hug and laugh and was a favorite among the staff caring for her. Playing in water was Betty's best-loved activity.

Betty Gail is survived by her niece Bridget Nicole Best; and great nephews, Christopher Best, Chase Best and Chance Best, plus extended family.

A private family service was conducted at Hallettsville City Cemetery, were Betty join her Fertsch family in their family plot.
