He is survived by daughter Sue Ellen Stevens & husband Don of Burton, Texas; 3-brothers, Eugene Butts of Sugarland, Texas, Kenneth Butts of Caldwell, Texas, and Paul Denton Butts of Chappell, Texas; and 3-grandchildren, Amanda Donielle Lugo, Samuel Berry Stevens, and Stacey Delane Pierce.

He was preceded in death by: wife Betty (died February 7, 2002); parents Vol Dent & Nannie Viola Smith Butts; 3-brothers, Leslie Ward Butts, Carl Shellie Butts, and Edward L. Butts; and 2-sisters, Winnie Potthoff and Mildred Bird.

Service: 3 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2006 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 3 p.m., Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Mr. Mike Ezzell. Burial: Salem Cemetery.
