Bernice Anne Sevcik, 79, of Hallettsville, was taken to heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. She was born on Dec. 22, 1933 to the late Lillie & Gus Ehler in Charlottenburg, TX. She married Clifton Juluis Sevcik on Nov. 22, 1953. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Bernice is survived by: husband Clifton; children, Forrest Wayne Sevcik & wife Carol of Hallettsville, Curtis Glenn Sevcik & wife Elva of Hempstead, Dennis Roy Sevcik & wife Annette of Katy, Michael Lee Sevcik & wife Cathy of Hallettsville, Karen Ann Friar & husband Joseph of Victoria, and Donna Mae Rainosek & husband Andrew of Hallettsville; Grandchildren, Angela Sevcik & friend Matt Pribble, Colleen Sevcik Garcia & husband Adrian, Andrew Sevcik & wife Meryl, Brandon Sevcik & friend Martha, Ashlee Sevcik Arter & husband Kyle, Bailey Sevcik, Whitney Rainosek, Keith Sevcik, Chase Rainosek, Christian Friar, Emma Friar, and Celton Rainosek; great-grandchildren, Keagan Garcia, Caden Garcia, and Camille Garcia; and brother Alton Ehler & wife Lynn.

Bernice loved her family, especially her grandkids. Her passion was gardening vegetables and flowers, especially roses, and baseball or softball, highly enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports. Bernice worked for Home Health Care for many years, and took care of many residents of Hallettsville. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Mark Labaj. Pallbeaers: Drew Sevcik, Chase Rainosek, Celton Rainosek, Keith Sevcik, Brandon Sevcik, and Christian Friar. Honorary Pallbearers: Angela, Colleen, Ashlee, Whitney, Bailey, Emma, Keagan, Camille, and Caden. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
