Berline Mitchell, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away January 27, 2015. She was born on July 18, 1921 to the late Leonard & Mary Ellen (Johnson) McAfee in Lavaca County, TX. She grew up and attended school in the Williamsburg Community. She was united in marriage to Ray Mitchell on September 20, 1939. To this union, 8 girls were born. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years, under the leadership of Rev. George Edwards.

Berline was preceded in death by: her husband Ray of 41 years; her parents; 2 daughters, infant Lottie Ray Mitchell and Virginia Kay Woodson; grandson Matthew Thomas; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Berline leaves to cherish her memory: 6 daughters, Annie Herring & husband I.G., Jerlene Lee & husband Charles, Bettie Bosier & husband Mac, Raydelle Anderson, Lynette Emmons & husband Junior Boy, Marilyn Thomas & husband Jessie; son-in-law Alfred Woodson; 15 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Alma, Ellen, Alice and Evelyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: 12 noon, Monday, February 2, 2015, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville. Visitation: 9:30 a m, Monday, at Kubena Funeral. Officiant: Rev. Athor Emmons Jr. Pallbearers (grandsons): Dwayne Herring, Albert Ray Clark, Kenneth Herring, Mitchell Davis, Dawayne Bosier, Troy Emmons, Todd Davis, Athor Emmons III, Charles Lee, Brandon Emmons, and Evan Woodson. Burial: Willing Workers Cemetery.
