Bera Ophelia (Billye) Hale, age 90, of Pattison, Texas, passed away July 03, 2009. She was born January 20, 1919 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Albert and Jenny Byrn. On November 30, 1945 she married John B. Hale in Houston, Texas.

Billye was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved to cook for family and friends, quilt, sew and embroider beautiful things for her family, and garden in her yard. Billye was adored by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. They are all blessed for being a part of her life.

Billye is survived by her cherished family: Three sons: Gaylon Hale and wife Frances, John Hale and wife Karen, Randy Hale and wife Shirley. Grandchildren: Gaylynn Brewer and husband Brooks, Duane Hale and wife Jen, Lindsay Harris and husband David, Trey Hale and wife Ashley, and Dr. Jennifer Hale. Great grandchildren: Travis, Robert and wife Jayme, Holly and husband Kenneth, Amy Lynn, Katy Ann, Ainsley, Hailey, Charlotte, Wyatt Hale Harris, William Hale Harris, and Natalie Kay. Great-great grandchildren: Julie, Cody James, Kaylee Ann, Emma Lynn, and Karson. Sister: Earlene Miller and husband Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billye was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years John Benjamin Hale, her parents, brothers Hugh and Cliff Byrn, sister Betty Griffin, and great-great grandson Kaden.

Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 11 am, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Pastor Roger D. Goldsmith. Pallbearers: Trey Hale, Tommy Brock, Robert Bruyneel, Brooks Brewer, Travis Brewer, Duane Hale, and David Harris. Burial: Geiger Cemetery.
