Obituary

Benedict L. Brosch Sr., 84, of Hallettsville, passed away Oct. 3, 2014. He was born on May 7, 1930 to Louis J. & Julia Dornak Brosch in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Mary Lee Mikulenka on Oct. 24, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth, Texas. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Benedict is survived by: his wife Mary; daughter Belinda Williams of Spring, TX; 3 sons, Benedict Brosch Jr. of Houston, Kurt Brosch & wife Becky of Cypress, TX, and David Brosch & fiancée Deborah Baker of Cypress, TX; brother Alois Brosch & wife Edwina of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Benedict was preceded in death by: his parents; son Timothy Brosch; and 3 sisters, Anna Brosch at infancy, Beatrice Pappas, and Bernice Haas.

Funeral Mass Service: 10am Monday, October 6, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at 6pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Zachary Brosch, Connor Brosch, Logan Brosch, Philip Brosch, John White, and Tyler Lighthall. Honorary Pallbearers: grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Hospice of South Texas or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
