Banna A. "Sissy" Jares, 84, of Hallettsville, passed away May 16, 2009. She was born on July 23, 1924 to Julius & Sophie Matula Neumann in Lavaca County. She married Joe J. Jares on August 30, 1950 in Hallettsville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Sissy is survived by: son Michael Jares & wife Janice of Hallettsville; 2 sisters, Julie Neely of Kerrville, and Lillie Aldis of Cheapside; 2 grandchildren, Steven Jares, and Christopher Jares & Audrey; and great grandchild Ryan Jares.

Sissy was preceded in death by; husband Joe, parents, and brother Julius "Lula" Neumann.

Service: 10:30 am, Friday, May 22, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 3 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 10 am, Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Joe Aldis, Tommy Hunt, Jimmy Neumann, Gene Schott, Bobby Lee Neely, and Glenn Janca. Honorary Pallbearer: Ernest Schulte. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
