Anthony Charles Grones (70) of Hallettsville, Texas joined his heavenly family on December 7, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony was born on January 7, 1950 to Emil and Selma (Galetka) Grones in Hallettsville, Texas. He grew up on the family farm outside of Hallettsville with his seven older siblings. He graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1968 where he enjoyed sports, FFA, and dancing to country music. In 1968, Anthony joined the Army reserves. Anthony graduated from Texas A&I in Kingsville with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1974.
On August 20, 1971, he married the love of his life, Maureen (Wagner) Grones. Together, they raised a family of four children in Victoria, Texas. He was an amazing, loving, and devoted father. His children represent the very best of him, they are full of kindness and love, and demonstrate to others what real love and companionship should look like. Anthony is best known for spoiling his wife, made to order breakfast, a love of cooking, and chasing his bull Fred around the farm.
Anthony worked at ALCOA in Point Comfort, Texas, retiring in 2010 after 38 years. He and Maureen retired to a small family ranch in Hallettsville. Together they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and many close friends. They wore out vehicles traveling to dance performances, sporting events, band concerts, and celebrating academic achievements.
Anthony is preceded in death by his brother Daniel Grones, Mother Selma (Galetka) Grones, and his Father Emil Grones.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Maureen Grones; their four wonderful loving children, Scott Grones (Kelly) of Palacios, Texas, Eric Grones (Deven) of Victoria, Texas, Melissa Champion (Kurt) of Pearland, Texas, Jill Mowles (Bobby) of Rosharon, Texas. His 11 grandchildren; Kaylee, Bailey, Brooke, Samantha, Bethany, Kori, Jaren, Logan, Anthony, Brantley, and Robbie were his pride and joy. They always looked forward to "Popo's" gold dollar coins he added to their birthday gifts for each year of their age.
